Antirival Accounting

Decentralized Monetary Protocol

A class of accounting protocols using shareable non-fungible tokens (sNFTs) whose value increases with shared use rather than being depleted by it, replacing exchange logic with sharing logic for designated goods. The fundamental operation is sharing, not transferring. Prototype: Streamr Awards / Aalto University Antirival Accounting research.

Decentralized Monetary Protocol Attributes

Origins Antirival economics research; commons-economics theory; post-blockchain accounting.
Data Formats sNFT (shareable non-fungible token) data structures; usage-tracking metadata; shared-state references.
Terms Open specification; implementations may vary.
Funds Unknown — academic research budget.
Based On Antirival goods theory (Steven Weber); commons economics; NFT research; Bauwens P2P theory.
Permissions Permissionless sharing by token holders; community-defined usage rules.
Smart Contract Yes — reference implementations use smart contracts for sNFT issuance and sharing verification.
Development Tools Not yet documented — research-stage specification.
Protocol Maturity / Standardization Academic / Research.
Trust Framework Cryptographic verification of sharing events; community-defined value-accretion rules; no central authority.
Target Application Domain Commons coordination, shared knowledge resources, regenerative finance, post-monetary contribution accounting.
Game-Acceptance Position Modify-Displacive — replaces exchange logic with sharing logic for specific goods classes.
Accumulation Regime Structurally limited — sharing is the fundamental operation; conventional accumulation is undefined.
Coordination Mechanism Deliberative — valuation through community-defined shared-use signals.
Issuance Model Member-collective — communities issue sNFTs under shared rules.
Value-Signal Type Antirival units (value increases with shared use).
Federation Pattern Underdeveloped — federation logic not yet specified by design.
Substrate Independence Hybrid — concept is substrate-neutral but current implementations are blockchain-based.
